Hi Guys,

Hi!

It has been successfully used in production for 2 years now. > Is there anybody out there > using it in production? Yes. I use it in several applications, the most known (and public) being smalltalkhub.com. Others have deployed it as well. Laurent deployed Amber in an app for a library for preview books, there's a video of the app here: http://vimeo.com/39062052. I've deployed Amber in a couple of projects in production too. The most used one is a game I wrote for a school to teach kids how to read sheet music: http://bromagosa.github.io/rescorer/ Some other examples are all the HTML5 games in www.reggaeperxics.com, coded in Ludus (a game framework I wrote in top of Amber). 2014-02-04 Nicolas Petton <[hidden email]>: Hi! Wow - those are pretty cool examples! Brought a smile to my day listening to the penguins and trying your games…

Hi, we should probably add some of the mentioned projects to the Amber website since this question pops up every now and then. Best, Manfred On Tue, Feb 4, 2014 at 10:37 AM, Bernat Romagosa <[hidden email]> wrote:

WOW! Those are some pretty nifty examples. Amber has the potential to be that next big thing. It is like javascript in the webbrowser, but on steroid. And I thought smalltalk was dead; Now I am diggin through all the smalltalk tutorials trying to get up to speed while at the same time regretting wasting my time doing other things before that. Thanks for all your responses.

Hi, We're using Amber along with Pharo and Zinc to develop a contact and sales application for a call centre. The Amber-based client runs in a browser embedded within a Cisco UCCX Agent Desktop, and it communicates, unsurprisingly, with the Pharo/Zinc back-end via JSON. Cheers, Mike -- Michael J.
