Hello,
I am happy to announce the release of a new FreeType binding :) http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~ThibaultRaffaillac/UFFIFreeType I use it to render glyphs with OpenGL, so a few features are still missing compared to FT2: gamma-space blitting (should belong to OSWindow?), GlyphForm class, and subpixel rendering (patch GlyphSlot>>form). FT_Library startUp: true. face := FT_Face fromFile: 'Arial.ttf' index: 0. glyph := face glyph. face setPixelWidth: 0 height: 12. face loadChar: $x asUnicode flags: 4. image := glyph form. Cheers, Thibault |
Hi Thibault!
Is your binding more stable that the one currently in the image? Many are experiencing recurrent VM crashes because of this. If your binding is more stable, then you might have a huge impact on all of us. Now if people could have a look and let us know it would be great because we are terribly busy. > Many are experiencing recurrent VM crashes because of this. > If your binding is more stable, then you might have a huge impact on all of us. > > Cheers, > Alexandre > > >> On Sep 6, 2016, at 10:37 AM, Thibault Raffaillac <[hidden email]> wrote: >> >> Hello, >> >> I am happy to announce the release of a new FreeType binding :) http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~ThibaultRaffaillac/UFFIFreeType >> I use it to render glyphs with OpenGL, so a few features are still missing compared to FT2: gamma-space blitting (should belong to OSWindow?), GlyphForm class, and subpixel rendering (patch GlyphSlot>>form). >> >> FT_Library startUp: true. >> face := FT_Face fromFile: 'Arial.ttf' index: 0. >> glyph := face glyph. >> face setPixelWidth: 0 height: 12. >> face loadChar: $x asUnicode flags: 4. >> image := glyph form. >> >> Cheers, >> Thibault >> > > |
