Watch the robot 'A' as it manoeuvres around the board following the team's prescribed strategy. The robot consumes the energy value of each cell it enters. The cells in blue have negative energy values! The object is to maximize the score.
The winning team comes from Nepean High School in Ottawa, Canada.
Next week's round, Round 3, is particularly interesting. The board will contain Death cells (if the robot enters one, it dies and the simulation is terminated), Jump cells (where it jumps ahead n cells in the direction it's moving), and Warp cells (where the robot "warps" to another location on the board). The Round 3 map I've created for the board is particularly challenging.
I can hardly wait for that round!
