You guys keep amazing me! I was lucky that my SMTP and IMAP needs were already met with 9.2, but it is great to see you're not stopping where you are. The new SMTP/IMAP APIs are great, btw. Sending and receiving mails is a no brainer now with 9.2 (and even more so with 9.2.1, I hear). I look forward to trying 9.2.1 and also 2021. The Windows GUI improvements will be more than welcome in lots of existing projects. Seems your schedule has no room for boredom ;-) Joachim Am Mittwoch, 11. Mariano. I am very pleased about the release, however I am having some difficulty understanding what has happened with the installation. I am getting old so my brain ain't as quick as it used to be but:
-- I have 9.1, 9.2 and now 9.2.1 installed on my laptop. I am trying to put the abtpay dll away so I went to my Program Files (x86) directory then VA Smalltalk - then expecting to see the normal list of folders and dlls, all I have is directory called Documentation. Now I cannot find the dlls for any of the installations. However - everything works! Tell me I am going stupid and everything is... Please? Hi David, My gut feeling is that you installed the 64 bits version of VAST? Then that should be in c:\Program Files\Instantiations\VA Smalltalk\9XXXX Could that be the reason? Best, On Fri, Mar 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM Totally Objects <[hidden email]> wrote:

Ashamed and feeling very stupid. Perhaps my little grey cells have deserted me. You are, of course, correct.

No problem David. It happens to all of us :) I am glad it was that the reason. Best, On Mon, Mar 16, 2020 at 1:32 PM Totally Objects <[hidden email]> wrote:

OK so another question. I have all the code I have ever written back to 1996 in my 9.2 config file. It is a real pain going through the complete list picking out my code and importing each one. I have just tried ConfigMaps - Names - Import - All Most Recent Versions . This seems to import everything including my old code but - is that something \I should be doing because it loads something of everything. Does this cause conflicts with the current 9.2.1 install? Should I do this or should I go back to manually importing each and every config map?
-- Likewise, I can't see it but is there an easy way to import all of my applications that aren't in config maps? I am very much a front end programmer so I could do with some ideas about this stuff. David On Monday, March 16, 2020 at 4:37:31 PM UTC, Mariano Martinez Peck wrote:

You can use the importer.exe tool from ANY VAST installation. Example: "importer.exe" "-z.target=envy::/Users/mariano/Trabajo/Instantiations/Common/Development/Managers/MainManager91.dat" "-z.source=c:\ProgramData\Instantiations\VA Smalltalk\9.2\manager\mgr92.dat" It simply receives a source and a target manager. Each manager could be either a local directory or a EMSRV server. That will import all maps/apps etc from source to target. I run with an everything.dat repository and I import the code from each new release into *it*. That works well and also allows me to see how the VASt code changed from release to release.
