Hi
this is nearly more than a year that I ask if we can have a way to NOT have "" when we print a result in the tool. What is the status? This %#$&^$&*(&)**&^$%#$&%*^&( popup BREAKS the flow when writing tests. I'm FED UP to have to remove the " at the beginning and end of my expression result. We got an long discussion and now how it is handled? I have the impression that the strategy here is to make sure that people believe that they are heard but do not care. I also don't like "next line" behavior when result inserted at next line instead of cursor position 28 янв. 2017 г. 9:28 AM пользователь "stepharong" <[hidden email]> написал: Hi |

Hi,
The solution we agreed upon was integrated since quite some time now. Try this: - type 42 - press Cmd+p - press Cmd+p It produces: Cheers, Doru On Jan 28, 2017, at 9:27 AM, stepharong <[hidden email]> wrote: -- www.tudorgirba.com www.feenk.com “Software has no shape. There has been discussion about that too, but the resolution was that it was a feature or something.

Here is the last discussion I know of...
<snip> Stef, does that work for you? One minor improvement could be leaving the inserted result unselected and instead place the cursor to the left of the inserted result, ready to type " equals: " The inserted result doesn't need to remain selected to be easy to delete, since the user could already have used <Backspace> to delete the popup. cheers -ben

it would be nice if print was removed completely and instead be replaced with an embedded inspector, but then thats just a dream of mine of workspace , system browser and inspector integrated in one tool and one GUI. On Sat, Jan 28, 2017 at 4:46 PM Ben Coman <[hidden email]> wrote:

I have no problem that people invent new approaches but not at the expenses of breaking working flow. And I do not see how what you propose can help me in my case. Stef

Yes at least I do not have to remove "" all the time.

BTW the popup is unreadable in Pharo 5.0, which makes the C-P C-P mandatory... Phil On Sat, Jan 28, 2017 at 11:18 AM, Tudor Girba <[hidden email]> wrote:

I learnt something too, it will make less inspectors popping all over due to unreadability w/ the theme I use due to accessibility needs. Phil On Sat, Jan 28, 2017 at 4:30 PM, stepharong <[hidden email]> wrote:
