Hi doru
Can you change the setup of the pier to have a clear distinction between chapter and section? > because it is really counter intuitive > we never know if we are editing a new table of contents, chapter or section. > Just now I edited again an entry in the table of contents and added a subsection when I wanted a section. Thanks. I would like to avoid losing time all the time. Hi Stef,
No, I cannot :). There really is nothing magic, just one single rule: whenever you want to add something, you will always add a child to the current page. So, if you want to add a page/or whatever, just go to the place you want to add it under and invoke add. That is it. What part of it is unclear? Now, when it comes to section/subsection, you should not care about that. Adding a child to a chapter creates a section. Adding a child to a section creates a subsection. And so on. There is something wrong in the ui. Else I would not have added twice in a rwo an entry in the table of contents, an section in the wrong place.... > Now, when it comes to section/subsection, you should not care about that. Adding a child to a chapter creates a section. Adding a child to a section creates a subsection. And so on. The problem is that I cannot decide how to spawn a new page or not. ok so for now I will not use subsection and hack something inside. I think that simon said the same, the contents is too chopped sometimes having a longer page is way better for the reading flow. Hello
I would appreciate as well a log of an example session. I just installed Pier2 in Squeak 4.1 (Details see http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/squeak-dev/2010-April/148970.html) How do I add a chapter? If I go to the root page* of the book I and click 'Add', I only get as choices -Book figure -Book portion -Book note Hannes It contains the text 'This is a book'. This question is not at all Squeak related. My question is: How do I
add a chapter to a book in Pier2. BTW Pier 2 not only runs on Pharo. There is some "grease" smeared on Pharo and Squeak to make it run smoothly.....:-) Hannes On 4/17/10, Stéphane Ducasse <[hidden email]> wrote: > > On Apr 17, 2010, at 9:29 PM, Hannes Hirzel wrote: > >> Hello >> >> I would appreciate as well a log of an example session. Stef, Doru i have got confused as well with where pages get added. It
makes sense once you understand what Pier is doing, but i have put too many pages in the wrong place. Anyway i have created a help chapter, with some tips. Please feel free to correct or add more. cheers, Mike _______________________________________________ Pharo-project mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-project |
