I have a customer who wants to be able to have labels with
ampersand characters in them. But the ampersand is a shortcut key and the
resulting label is morphed into ‘This _ That’ instead of ‘This
& That’. Is there some way to escape that character or
otherwise render it a literal character rather than an indicator of a shortcut
key? Thanks! _______________________________________________ vwnc mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vwnc |
Try using && instead.

Thanks - that puts an underlined ampersand in the label. Any way to get a non-underlined ampersand? Thanks!

Clarification: in a label widget, the && works ('This & That'). On an
action button, the && will create a label that becomes 'This _That'. Any other ideas would be appreciated! Thanks! The double ampersand in a button label creates the desired effect for me in both VW 7.6 and VW 7.7.1:
This & That
Perhaps you have code loaded that is interfering? Ah, you’re right! Out of the box VW seems to work ok. Thanks
for that! I’ll start looking more closely at our extensions. Thanks! From: Dave Stevenson
