[Ann] an opensource blog engine written in Iliad

Nicolas Petton
Hi,

Bernat Romagosa wrote a blog engine in Iliad. You can find it at
http://www.squeaksource.com/ASBTSBlog.html and a real world example, his
blog, at: http://www.asmalltalkbytheseaside.com.

Cool!

Thanks Bernat.

Thanks to you for the ad actually ;)

As I was telling Nico, please bear in mind this is a weekend project written by an Iliad beginner, I hope to keep improving it along with my Iliad skills :)

Bernat.

Indeed it is :'(

I don't have time to fix it right now, and I can't access the image with VNC either... I'll see what I can do after lunch...

Thanks for noticing!

Funny part is I can access it from inside the server, so it doesn't look like an image crash/hang... http://i.imgur.com/wUpjY.png

Oh well, this is really weird... it does work if I disable Javascript on the browser, but I still can't access the image over VNC o_O

I had one written in Odyssey CMS, but it's commercial app. I just
created a new one at http://www.nicolas-petton.fr This one is generated
by jekyll (http://jekyllrb.com) which is basically a static website
generator, and Jtalk.

Cheers,
Nicolas

It works for both js enabled and js disabled.

Could this be a server issue? I can access it now, I click some anchors and then it dies again...

Re: [Ann] an opensource blog engine written in Iliad

Working now, I just killed the image and started it again. I noticed the app was running in debug mode, as I forgot to change it when I deployed it, could this be the source of the problem?

Cheers!

Bernat Roamagosa.

There could be many reasons :/ Now running deployed apps in debug mode
is a bad idea, as you can potentially get *many* debugger windows in the
image.

Hi Bernat,
Congratulations for your job, and thanks for sharing.

There are any dependency with Seaside?

Nope, no dependencies with Seaside at all, just the name of the blog and the domain.

Maybe, but when the domain expires.

On the other hand, even if I'm not talking about seaside anymore, the blog was named after my final university project, which represented my first diggings into Smalltalk, so I kinda like it :)
