Beta Dolphin Pro 5.1 Patch Level 4 Available

Blair McGlashan
A beta of Patch Level 4 for Dolphin 5.1 Professional is now available for
download from our website:

http://object-arts.com/Lib/Update/Dolphin/5.1/PL4.st

It contains more than 50 bug fixes and enhancements, although most are of a
relatively minor nature. These are listed in the release notes:

http://object-arts.com/Lib/Update/Dolphin/5.1/PL4.htm

This patch is unusual in that it contains Smalltalk patches that replace the
VM and compiler DLLs. Full installation requires a reboot in order to
overwrite these files which will be in use when Dolphin is running. Manual
intervention is required when patching on Win98/Me and NT4. Another
consequence of this is that the patch is 536Kb in size, rather larger than
usual.

At present patch has received only limited testing on Windows 2000 - it
green lights the SUnits, but application deployment, etc, has not been
tested. The patch will be released via Live Update next week when full
testing has been completed.

Blair,

In patch 4 DVE 1411 updates
DevelopmentSessionManager>>initializeFromSessionManager: to register for
two events (#queryEndSession and #sessionReady).  A little later on DVE
1450 updates it again but only registers for #queryEndSession.
