Change of direction for Aida 6.0

Janko Mivšek
Dear Aiders,

As you know the 6.0 was supposed to be just a minor upgrade but numbered
as such to supplement the forthcoming Scribo 1.0.

But things are now changing, Aida is getting a lot of very important and
far fetching new stuff, so that a version numbered as 6.0 will be deserved.

So, what is the core of that change of direction?

1. Introduction of web execution contexts as a step towards tree-like
control flow. These contexts give a scope to the "execution" of web
request and are the precondition for controlling this flow of execution,

2. Tree-like control flow is now the ultimate goal of 6.0 as well,

3. Translation support for text on the web apps, to allow the
multilingual text on the pages, besides multilingual content,

4. Caching.

Points 1 and 4 are already done, while translation support is done
except the UI for translators.

Next week I have a plan to release the next beta with above results
already included and also tested on my production systems. This battle
testing is happening right now and so far I "survived" without much
glitches and no angry customers... :)

Best regards
Janko

I just installed the 6.0 beta and when loading the Demo page I get the attached VirusScan Alert message (must be the corporate virus scanner as I am testing it at work during my lunch break).  Needles to say, as a result the demo is not working as expected.

uhm... Exploit-obscuredHtml doesn't look like a real detection, more
like a very cheap heuristic. There are a few compression algorithms for
javascript pages that are very legit, and are quite likely detected by
this antivirus as an infected file. I tried generating the scripts.js
file here, and what I see doesn't look like it has anything that could
be detected as obscuredHtml. (I have a one-click Aida/Scribo image)

Could you personally send me a copy of that file? if you want, zip it
and protect it with "AidaScribo" as password. I'm interesting in taking
a look, and I'll share what I find.

I am using the latest Pharo Dev image (pharo0.1-10292dev09.04.6) and installed the 3 Aida 6.0 beta 2 packages.

I just tried to get to the error files but I don't have access to the error file when using IE.  When testing using Google Chrome (from my USB stick) the file already seems to be deleted?

erm... I downloaded the one-clicke beta1, and now I tried to update
it to beta2, but it complains that SwazooSite class is missing... I
tried checking all dependencies (as for
http://www.aidaweb.si/download.html) but they all seem to be met, so
I'll have to start from scratch... does Scribo1.0-beta.1.mcz correctly
load in an Aida6.0-beta.2.mcz image?

You could try going to the vault of your anti-virus, and see if you
can recover the file from there, you could also try downloading the file
with the browser again, maybe from another computer without the
antivirus? (http://localhost:8888/scripts.js) or, is theh site installed
on any public IP I could access?
