Changes window suggestion

Carl Gundel-2
It would be really great if when comparing two editions of a method if the window would show information about the time and date, and maybe the version of the containing application for boths methods.  I hate to be unsure what I am looking at then I compare versions of a method.

Thanks,

Re: Changes window suggestion

Seth Berman
Hi Carl,

I like this idea, as well.  I think right now it's using a text comparison browser which only understands the concept of comparing string information.  Because of this it doesn't know it's looking at methods, or even what a method is.
A couple of options I can look into are:
1. Providing a way to externally supply the required information that can be put in the status bar area (similar to browsing changes between class information)
2. Seeing if the changes browser (the one used when browsing changes between classes, apps..) can be easily modified to be just a split pane like the text comparison browser and use that instead.

I'll put in a case for this.  Thanks
