I just read that VMWare (Gemstone's parent) has just acquired Wavemaker (a company that I have been following since they were called ActiveGrid) who make a cloud IDE based on java/springsource (another VMWare acquisition).
I actually thought that Gemstone was in a great position to create a cloud IDE/PaaS ... Smalltalk based of course :)
