Context / HomeContext / XArgumentBlock

Does anybody know if those classes are still used today? Or has this been optimized away by the current compiler and the classes are relict from the past?

I was reading the Blue Book today and the section on activation contexts. If I remember correctly, I haven’t seen real activation context objects in VSE.
