Hello all,
I **think** that I'm sometimes having problems with users trying to start an
app before either the machine is fully started, or perhaps more to the
point, before the machine has obtained an IP address. The app in question
needs to do some DNS queries early on, and I think those are getting ugly.
Internet Explorer seems to be pretty slick about retrying in such
situations. Do any of you happen to know something about how it does it?
I'm assuming that it has something to do with the Windows Internet API, but,
don't have a clue where to start.
Another possible solution is to overlapp DNS calls - it works nicely for
connects. Of course, I'd still need to detect problems and retry, and there
might be a need to call error handling functions to make it work. Any
ideas?
Have a good one,
Bill
