So what's the state of affairs? What tools are out there for building  
reports on an RDMS?

okay, I mean tools that I don't have to buy :) and that are easily  
integrated into VW, actually that are written in VW, actually preferably  
that are in the Cincom public repository but at the very least easily  
loadable into VW 7.x, btw which I only found one such tool in the  
repository namely ReportWriter , has anybody played with it?
