This is an odd one and I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. On my iMac in VW7.9 I'm finding that most of the time pressing the delete key triggers the expected backwards delete but sometimes it triggers the forward delete (normally triggered from PC keyboards when pressing the "delete" key as opposed to backspace). Once it gets stuck in this forward deleting mode, the only way to get it out of it seems to be exiting the image. I'm wondering if there is some key combination I'm accidentally pressing that is causing this. It doesn't happen to me in any other app, just VW....anyone else or am I just nuts?

I don't have a Mac, but on Linux running in a VM (VirtualBox), AltGr (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_Gr) sometimes does not work.
Instead of "[" (AltGr + 8), "]" (AltGr + 9), "|" (AltGr + <) I get the unmodified characters (8,9,<). I've blamed VirtualBox until now. Cannot reproduce it, unfortunately. And I don't know if it's related to your problem. But in other application (terminal, text editor etc.), the AltGr modifier still works, that's similar.

We know about the delete / backspace key, and we think we understand how
it's happening. There's this AR for it: 61981: "Delete key sporadically stops working on Mac" Right now, it's queued for 7.10. We're currently looking at other OS X keyboard problems, we hope to have something more to say in a bit. Andres. No, you're not going nuts. This has been high on the OSX hit list for a while now and I believe a fix may have just been included for testing in our development builds. You can fix it though, by clicking in to another text area. It took us the longest time to even come up with a reproducible technique for it.

This can also be worked around by just rolling over the icon for a control in the window or tool you are working in such that it brings up the associated tooltip. This will usually unstick the snag that is involved in the whole problem. The simplest thing to do is just click away to another window that has a text input area in it, such as a workspace or other code pane. The defect is fairly well understood now and others (the GUI folks) are looking into ways to fix it permanently.

I had been blaming the VNC connection to the Mac :). Is there an image-level fix or code workaround for this, while we wait for the VW7.10 VM?
