Hey guys, is anybody going to dyncon? We were asking about how to have an ecosystem around our tech and dyncon sounds like a great opportunity to show our bright spots We shouldn't be absent there And, as a side effect, one shouldn't underestimate the chances of meeting the co-founder of your next startup in a place like that (founded or not) Please tell me at least someone from ESUG will be there _______________________________________________ seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |

Yes, I've been asked to talk about Seaside. We're also planning to run
a Wolfpack Programming workshop and Cincom is, I believe, also sponsoring the social event on Saturday night. Well, I was there last autumn. I can tell you that there were a bunch
of people saying "boy, I sure wish I could find a job in Smalltalk" and a bunch of other people saying "we'd love to use Smalltalk but it's really hard to find developers". So if we can just help those two groups find each other, everything should be good. :D Julian On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 6:09 PM, Bart Veenstra <[hidden email]> wrote: > I would love to move to Sweden :) Let me know how the Smalltalk Market > is in Sweden :) > > 2011/2/9 Avi Shefi <[hidden email]>: >> Looks like the conference will be a hit. >> Julian - Congratulations on your upcoming session on dyncon! >> Cheers, >> Avi. >> On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 5:43 PM, Julian Fitzell <[hidden email]> wrote: >>> >>> Yes, I've been asked to talk about Seaside. I suspect Mikael Kindborg from Mosync will be there, though I haven't talked to him yet. Mikael is also a Squeaker but dabbles in most languages. And I know a few more Smalltalkers that might be there, like Peter Hugosson-Miller and Thierry Reignier - will check with them all. As a sidenote I was in contact with Peter Svensson who is organizing the event back in november - he was checking with me regarding Dyncon "clashing" with the "Dynamic Stockholm" event we did. I never got the time to submit a presentation but luckily Björn and Julian cover it. Peter wrote that he originally learned OO by reading the famous Byte magazine on Smalltalk. So he felt that it is important to include Smalltalk, although he doesn't know it personally anymore. regards, Göran PS. Perhaps I should finally become a Twitter monkey too. :) _______________________________________________ seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
