Well, if one selects the root of the hierarchy the list displays all
packages, which is effectively the same as the old package browser. One big
difference, of course, is that the base system is now subdividied into many
more packages, and that does make it more difficult to use that list.

That is a possibility. We'd have to think about implementation
practicalities, but I think it would be feasible.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I think we could quite easily filter down the
list and have a toggling toolbar button to switch it in and out.
