Yep, having a message with same name as instance variable and different semantic is just like shooting oneself in the foot.

I started to change some of method names (secondsSinceMidnight -> 2 flavours UTC and localTime) in issue 10425 https://pharo.fogbugz.com/default.asp?10425.
But ivar renaming and maybe some additional API renaming remains to be done...
