After discussing with Camillo, it looks like it is a bad idea to use "eval" and quit from the eval script in Pharo 2.0. This has been fixed cleanly in Pharo 3.0 by introducing sessions. For Pharo 2.0, Camillo's proposal is to use a --save option that will do the job and remove the "Smalltalk snapshot..." line from the shell scripts.
