We agree about unabbreviating the flag names, but are not sure about the "don't quit" and "don't consume all the input" part.
1. We made it quit after because you said "I'd rather have it where I run the command line once to change the preferences and then again with whatever else"
2. If we don't consume all the tokens, how do we parse the command line? The file names could be followed by e.g. --version, but also by "eval..." or "st..." or any other custom thing that people write. How will we know what are file names and what is not?
