I don't know enough yet about Bloc and Brick to work a fix (and I'm still really just evaluating Pharo, trying to determine how serious the effort is), but I suppose that we need a columnar divider that re-positions itself automatically, in this case rightward, to give the labels the room they need to be completely read, by scanning all labels, preferably only in the visible portion of the window, at the newly selected font size, calculating the labels' rendered widths in pixels, and setting the first column width to the largest of those pixel counts, plus a comfortable standard margin of a few more pixels just before the divider. If there is a plan to re-do the GUI anyway in Bloc/Brick, and someone already knows how to repartition a window as columns of adjustable width, then this task appears almost trivial for the Pharo/Bloc/Brick-fluent. Perhaps I'm missing something.
