Subject: February Update - ADK Project
Hello Team.
Here is your February update. Well, things have
been moving along pretty well. We've made considerable progress on a number of
fronts. Here is a quick summary:
- Denis has started working on integrating Jabber,
an XML based messenger service into our project.
- Kevin Roberts has completed the marketing
analysis. I'll be turning that into the group project plan for 2007 / 2008
next. So far the feedback from everyone on Kevin's report has been very
positive. Thanks for the great work Kevin, this will help a lot with making
valuable and competitive technology.
- Today I published our latest program, the ADK
Services Manager. This is a SOAP client / server application that can send
classes and files in binary over the internet. I attached a screen
shot.
- Dave Shields has setup a nice web framework for us
to use. We'll be adding sections to this as different features are
developed.
- Ray has been working on some new project graphics,
I've had a look and they are pretty spiffy. Looking forward to seeing them on
our website soon.
- We've conquered our first load build and have
actual working software that can be downloaded and run. We have a new tester
(Meads) who has just joined our project, this will help a lot with managing
the quality of our releases from now on.
- We've had quite a lot of interest in the project,
from different organizations involved in funding for open source and
academic / applied research. I'll update you more as this develops. Any
questions, as always, just let me know...
Lots more on the way. Thanks everyone,
Respectfully,
David Long
