Fwd: A trac like tool for Squeak

Janko Mivšek
Nicolas, this is good proposal, so I'm forwarding it to a mailing list
to be discussed broadly.

Hi again,

Since you started working on your AIDABrowser, I'm thinking about
writing a tool for Squeak : a trac-like web app for Squeak.

Let me explain a little : Squeaksource could be a great tool for that,
and it does almost what we need for a collaborative develpment. But
first, some important features are missing, like tickets, milestones and
roadmap. Of course I could improve it to sweet my needs, but hey, it's
seaside! (no nice bookmarkable url, session expiration, etc). More,
building a squeaksource server is such a pain...and it's not stable
enough for me and it works with a very old version of seaside...

So, the Monticello part is already there (in squeaksource code), and
with Scribo we will have the wiki part and with AidaBrowser the online
browser part. So building such a tool would be easy.

If you don't know trac, you can look here : http://trac.edgewall.org/

Also, it would be a good success story, and if a lot of squeak projects
use this tool in the future, it could be a great pub for Aida.

What do you think ?

Nicolas

PS : if it works, why not make a store part for VW too ?
