problems, but not entirely. Thanks nonetheless for what you have contributed over the years. We will look for new maintainers for the GNU packages that you were the maintainer of. -- Dr Richard Stallman President, Free Software Foundation 51 Franklin St Boston MA 02110 USA www.fsf.org www.gnu.org Skype: No way! Like many other packages in the set of "Unix command line utilities", neither GNU sed nor GNU grep need a lot of time. Paul Eggert is already handling grep and contributed to sed in the past. I wish all the best to the GNU project, and I hope that the real problems will be corrected. Some on another mailing list have taken umbrage at Paolo's remarks on your behalf, and I have tried to calm the waters. > Thank you very much for the appreciation. Thank you for your continuing work on GNU Smalltalk, which is important to my work with One Laptop Per Child and Sugar Labs. I am one of those writing the Etoys Reference Manual, including most of the work on Squeak. http://booki.flossmanuals.net/etoys-reference-manual/_edit/ We have several other manuals on Etoys. Having access to pure and well-documented Smalltalk has been a great help to me. RMS has taken considerable interest in our work, even adopting an OLPC XO as his main computer briefly, as the Freest hardware available until the next, even Freer computer appeared. We have eliminated the proprietary BIOS in favor of Open Firmware (BSD license), and we have moved on from the Marvell 88W8388 WLAN chip, with its proprietary on-chip microkernel, to the Marvell 88w8686, so I hope RMS will take another look. > Paolo > > _______________________________________________ > help-smalltalk mailing list > [hidden email] > https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-smalltalk > -- Edward Mokurai (默雷/निशब्दगर्ज/نشبدگرج) Cherlin Silent Thunder is my name, and Children are my nation.
