As I went to post this message I noted the query regarding Windows CE.
Out of curiosity I downloaded SQUEAK and saw it's GUI displays which
have the 'look and feel' of the GUIs described in Adele Goldberg's
Smalltalk 80. (presumably because of the VM, the response did appear a
little slow).
Question - Generally speaking, do Smalltalk developers use Win APIs in
preference, or is there a fair body of programmers that persist with
Smalltalk GUIs. One reference to SQUEAK in the Windows CE thread seemed
to indicate that Smalltalk GUIs were a bit of a non-starter. Is
Smalltalk used with other operating systems, mainframes, Unix, Linux etc
- and what are the GUI tools used in these different environments.
