Re: GemStone/S 64 Bit 3.5, GBS/VW 8.4, and GBS 5.4.5 releases

If you are using GsDevKit_home, you need to do an update:

$GS_HOME/bin/updateGsDevKit -g

to pick up some changes that are needed to work with GemStone 3.5.0.

I also want to point out that the upgrade process for GsDevKit/GLASS has changed in 3.5.0 - upgradeImage no longer blows away the session methods, so for upgrades not requiring method recompilation the process of upgrading your GsDevKit/GLASS images is greatly simplified. The upgradeSeasideImage script has been changed as well, so you will want to check the install guide[1] for the changes ...

If you are using GsDevKit_home, the upgradeStone script has been changed to use the new script for 3.5.0 so you won't need to do anything different.

Just this morning I published a new version of GsDevKit_home with a fix to the upgradeStone script that affects 3.5.0 upgrades. Run or re-run the followin to pick up the script update:

    updateGsDevKit -g
