GemStone/S and Pharo

IIUC Pharo is the reference implementation for GemStone/S, but how do the versions match up? Does GS 3.x.x imply Pharo 3 as reference? Does GS track new Pharo developments? For exampe, are there plans to update foro Pharo 4.0 and beyond?
