Hi Dale,
Can one upgrade a seaside extent from 2.4.4.1 to 2.4.6 without going through a database migration (like the one necessary for 3.1) ? Or should I rather upgrade to 2.4.4.8 ? Though migrating to 3.1 is definitely the plan for 2014... but in the meantime... Johan On 20 Dec 2013, at 16:05, Dale K. Never mind, I found the upgrade instructions ;-)
I guess it's more worthwhile to spend our time going to 3.1 rather than perform an upgrade to 2.6. Johan,
Well, even though you go through the upgrade (i.e. reload all of your code), it might not be as bad as the 3.1 upgrade since you are basically removing and re-adding all of the methods ..... the underlying base image is relatively unchanged. Whereas with 3.1 your code has to be ported to 3.x .... I would suggest that you try running through the a test upgrade to see if things are as bad as you think and I'd definitely be interested in hearing about the issues that cause you to "give up" ...
