Facundo,

For Seaside 3.0 your best bet is to either grab an appliance with Seaside3.0 in it, see:

  http://forum.world.st/New-GemStone-Seaside-Appliance-td2329286.html

or build your own appliance starting with a Ubuntu 10.10:

  http://www.thoughtpolice.co.uk/vmware/#ubuntu10.10

and install GLASS:

  http://onsmalltalk.com/2010-10-30-installing-a-gemstone-seaside-server-on-ubuntu-10.10

and install Seaside3.0:

  http://code.google.com/p/glassdb/wiki/Seaside30Configuration

So for just taking a spin, the prebuilt appliance is probably best bet:)

Kjell Godo
I will try the prebuilt appliance first and then try

installing a gemstone seaside server on ubuntu 10.10

since I have the appliance downloaded already.

Thanks for the added instructions.

Dale,
yes, the appliance is ok for me. I didn't find it on the glass download page, thanks for the link.

See you,

I tried to unzip the

GLASS-Appliance-1.0beta11.1.zip

file using the

Windows XP pro Windows Explorer

unzip function but I got the error

Error Reading The File

after it did unzip two virtual disk drive files

So I will try installing the PKZip unzipper and see if that works.

Are you sure that you download the complete file? It has to be exactly 1066215 KB of size.
