Installation error or Linux

Hi, this is my first message.

I am currently trying to install VisualWorks 7.8 on Linux Mint Debian Edition 64 bit and am consistently getting the following error:



Please find attached the install-error.log file.

Any help will be much appreciated.

This type of problem is usually due to a corrupt download. I assume you have an ISO file, can you check the md5 sum of it? For 7.8 NC it should be: ec5017b8244a0185947d24315cb4f253

If I remember correctly, the 64-bit VMs for VisualWorks 7.8 had troubles running compressed
images, which is what the installer image is.  I believe that the new VMs for VisualWorks 7.8.1
(which is now available on our server) corrected this problem.  If you can download the latest
Personal Use version of VisualWorks I believe you should be able to install the 64-bit Linux
version with no problem.
