If you want to use generated interfaces to drive it by Automation, then it
should be possible. I tried it a while ago, and Dolphin appeared to
generate the interfaces well enough, but I could never get it to work. The
likely problems were either incorrect/incomplete initialization or a failure
to set some mandatory property (the MS docs tend to say things are optional
when they aren't).
You might check the archives just in case I posted something that would be
useful to you. If you do get it working, I'd be interested because I have a
machine with flaky system sounds. In its failure mode (which occurs
frequently), Sound does nothing but the media player (and all sound card
diagnostics) work fine. My goal would be to load and play wav files.
