Is there a bug in the way previous Workspace contents are retrieved?

When I click on the small arrow in the corner of a workspace to get the previous contents, I am unable to get back the present contents.

It is as though the contents from a different and probably closed Workspace is what shows up on the list and the current text in the workspace is lost forever.
