My System:

Pharo-1.3-13315-OneClick.app
Pharo1.3
Latest update: #13315
OBSystemBrowserAdaptor
Mac OS X 10.7.2

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open the Browser, go to Zinc-Tests
2) Go to ZnClientTests
3) Click on testGetJpeg
4) From the contextual menu, choose "Debug Test"
5) Your are now inside the test. Jump to the code area, and write as the  
first line (after the temp-vars) "self isElemento" (while doing so  
code-completion will offer you "isElement"
6) CMD-P (printIt). The system will suggest other message names, but you  
still go for "isElemento"
7) The VM crashes

Notes:

- This has nothing to do with Zinc. It is reproducible with other tests as  
well. As a matter of fact it started with own tests
- It is not reproducible with ALL tests

Can you check if you have the same problem with the latest version of zinc  
published in Pharo1.4 alpha.
Because sven fixed a lot of issues

As I said, it has nothing to do with Zinc: I can reproduce this for other  
tests. Take for example MetacelloStackCacheTestCase>>#testCachedReturn.  
Debug the test. Enter "self isElemento". PrintIt, accept the mistyped name  
=> the VM hangs (allright, sometimes it hangs, sometimes it crashes,  
sometimes it works).

I tried with Pharo 1.4 (Pharo1.4a - Latest update: #14284) as you  
suggested. There I'm missing the context menu item "Debug Test". I am  
missing the test-case indicators near the method names altogether in the  
class browser... So I can not exactly reproduce this.

I tried manually inserting "self halt", and then debugging. So far I was  
not able to bring the VM to crash :-)

Sorry, it seems this image is not using OB per default, that's why I'm  
missing the context menu and the indicators... ? SystemBrowser default =>  
Browser.

I cannot reproduce it in Mac. Can you try with the latest VM from

I can not reproduce it with the latest VM.

Strangely, I seem not to be able to reproduce it in my system either  
anymore. I could just once more, with a freshly downloaded one-click-app.  
And now not anymore, even if I download one again... More elusive than I  
though...

As far as I'm concerned you can close this issue until I can reproduce this  
more consistently.
