I thought they must have been Example coded somewhere like GLMBasicExamples, the MOEaselExamples and these somehow flagged for searching - and that I never got any results because of some lacking implementation. I've just had my misconception corrected on the mail list (thx ben), so here then is some feedback on the Finder helpt text that shows in the bottom pane when no code is being displayed ... 1. Currently is says "for further informations, print 'FinderUI methodFinderExplanation' " but would be rather better if when [Examples] is selected, the bottom pane is filled with "print 'FinderUI methodFinderExplanation". 2. Currently it says "In these four modes, you can also tick the 'Use RegEx' checkbox." These is a carry over from when Pramgas were not an option and only the first three modes had RegEx. It might noew be better saying "In the first four modes" and sort [Examples] to appear at the bottom of the selection list. 3. Currently it says 'Select classes' and 'All classes' but the actual buttons are <Choose Packages> and <All packages> 4. Optional extra, while <Regexp> is enabled, put some help text for regular expressions with examples in the bottom pane. _______________________________________________ Pharo-bugtracker mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-bugtracker |

Status: FixReviewNeeded Comment #2 on issue 5733 by [hidden email]: Finder help text enhancements http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5733 Slice in the inbox It: - changes "Examples" by "Pattern", - set the FinderUI methodFinderExplanation text when Pattern is selected - refactorizes the code to have only on place where the symbols are defined to be able to change them with ease _______________________________________________ Pharo-bugtracker mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-bugtracker |
Comment #3 on issue 5733 by [hidden email]: Finder help text enhancements http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5733 Thanks for taking this up. Example 3. 4. 7 in the search box works fine. > Type a fragment of a selector in the top pane. I can't get this to work. I try typing "at" and clicking <Search> but nothing happens. Perhaps I'm missing something. In the explaination can you provide a working example of what to type into the Search Box. btw, how does this differ from searching Selectors ? I had a few changes to the explaination to better suit a newcomer - but rather than try to describe them here I have just updated the slice. In the pulldown box, perhaps Pattern --> Patterns, since the other items there are plural. _______________________________________________ Pharo-bugtracker mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-bugtracker |
