[hidden email]: Typing ' in Workspace
gives ''
http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=6108As a new user of Pharo I did find this off putting - it might drive away
less motivated new users. They might, like me, think it's a bug. But
instead of reporting it they are likely to just run away.
If you want to keep new users, it might be best to turn off this "feature".
No doubt I will now, like you, get used to it and maybe (!) end up thinking
it's marvellous. But first impressions count - and this is a bad first
impression. Why not do like every other text package in the universe and
actually give the users what they type in? Later they can turn on smart
characters if they think they are a good idea...
In an early (page 20) PBE example you don't want enclosure:
Don't panic, just keep coding :)
