Here's a strange thing that I have seen with working with the repository files using File I/O (not EMSRV) under Windows 7 that I do not remember ever seeing under Windows XP.
I sometimes get a debugger showing "Access denied" errors when exporting or importing configuration maps if I have a Windows Explorer window open in the same directory that I am reading/writing into (also known as watching the file size grow). This has been happening on a fairly regular basis since I have been beating on a repository file for a number of days, and I am passing this along in an effort to see if anyone else has seen it.
I have had it happen both by selecting import/export from the Configuration Map browser inside of VAST as well as using the Importer tool combining the baseline 7.0 and 8.5.2 code repositories.
The repository and image file are local to my machine (so no network issue), and when my image is up, it is the only image hooked to the repository.
Closing the explorer windows completely eliminates the issue.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Is Windows doing something under the covers while it is updating the file details in the explorer window that would cause such behavior?
