Latest dev image on Mac

Ramiro Diaz Trepat-2
Hi guys,
If I download the lastest dev image, run an update, save & quit and then restart.  The image never starts again.
I am running on a mac with the latest vm.
There is no problem at all with any image where I did not load the latest updates.
Cheers

r.

Re: Latest dev image on Mac

Alexandre Bergel
I updated the lastest dev image, save as another name, and it freezes.
Alt-. does not help in waking it up.

Re: Latest dev image on Mac

Stéphane Ducasse

Why do you udpate a dev image? It is well-know that you should not
update from a dev.
We will remove the menu.

Do you have the same problem with a core?

As announced in
http://n2.nabble.com/ANN-Updating-a-Pharo-image-is-now-possible-td3408773.html,
that should now work out-of-the-box.

However, the latest addition of David's Package browser has probably
broken this as I saw some overrides there.

Or better enhance the feature.

Good question.

I have that too with a core image. I first thought it was from Snow
Leopard but an older version of the image worked.

I got a problem with core when I did an update from 414 but I retried
and it worked.
Really strange.

Re: Latest dev image on Mac

Adrian Lienhard
I am confused regarding the problem in a core image:

- Does it really occur in a core image? It seems so according to
Philippe.
- Which is the offending update? We had three recent updates: 10420 -
10422.

Updating from 10419 to 10420 to 10422 worked for me on Mac
(4.2.1beta1U).

To update to a specific version you can use:

Utilities updateFromServerThroughUpdateNumber: 10420

It would be good if we could track that problem down before pushing
new updates.

Cheers,
Adrian

Yes, it's a core image with Seaside 2.9 and OB from Lukas.

Obviously the Early Adopters of Snow Leopard and Squeak macintosh
4.2.1beta1U should speak up
As far as I know it works, but if you have contrary reports please
email.
