"Pharo" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Also, what significance does the version number have, since it stays static as the build evolves?

All broken back to build #24 from Feb 25th. It was very tedious to find that out, since the builds all claim to produce Pharo_0.2.4

The Pharo_0.2.6.dmg seems to work fine for me. It looks like files.pharo.org does not contain the file yet. Please use: https://ci.inria.fr/pharo/view/all/job/Launcher-Mac/44/artifact/Pharo_0.2.6.dmg

This is where calling PharoLauncher "Pharo" is confusing. There is Pharo 0.2.4 and also Pharo 4.0. What is a newcomer to think?

I don't know why it doesn't work for you :-(. Are there other people
with the same problem?

Indeed launcher is a better name.

0.2.7 works again! Although it appears to contain a pretty old VM as it doesn't have a SDL2 plugin present...

Okay, google revealed more Apple evil empire nonsense. Starting in Mountain Lion, when you try to launch an app for the first time that is from an unknown developer, instead of telling you that, they give you this totally misleading message. The fix is to temporarily allow apps from all sources in the System Preferences [1]. Once Launcher has been launched once, you can change it back.
