List of academic / industrial using Moose

Anne Etien
Hi,

In the previous version of the website, there was a list of academic partners and its equivalent for the industrial ones. I can’t find on the new version of the website where is the information and the old links lead to 404 pages.
Is the information available somewhere?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Tudor Girba-2
Hi,

It's not available anymore because the webpage was not maintainable anymore.

What exactly do you need? The list or a link to a page that provides the list?

Cheers,
Doru

A list of the academic and the industrial partners should be enough in a first temp.

After, for the evaluation, it could be good that the reviewer can also access the information.

Thanks.

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Anne Etien
Thanks, but it is only contributors and not users. For example Thierry Goubier, Serge Stinckwich, Stefan Eggermont, Alain Plantec and lot of others are not in this list but they are doing a lot for and with Moose. The list that existed on the old site was much more larger. I think it is good to have somewhere a quasi exhaustive list of the institution of Moose contributors and users. It can help to see the size of the community and to get project.

Cheers,
Anne

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

The "More contributors" link points to the list of people that have commits rights (hence might have committed something in the Moose repository):

The previous list was a longer list of people that have contributed since the beginning of Moose, but most of them are not active since a long time. We should revive that list nevertheless.

Cheers,
Doru

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Offray
It seems so. I have not commit rights to Smalltalk, but as Doru said, my
newbie role is important by asking questions (some of them lead to a new
wasys of updating). Of course I'm not trying to get credit for making
questions, but I think that just putting people who has commits to the
Moose repo doesn't reflect the welcoming nature of this community to
newbies like me and the important that you give to users.

How can we add active users to this list?

Cheers,

Offray

The questions and opinions of newbies are important since there are more
people who don't use Pharo / Moose than those that do use it :)

Of course, in general, it helps if questions are asked in a smart way...

In reply to this post by Anne Etien
Yes, this might be interesting to have a list of main industrial and
academics users of MOOSE.
I agree with Anne, this is quite important when you wrote an academic
proposal and you want to show to the reviewers that there is a big
community.

You can link Kendrick project if needed : http://ummisco.github.io/kendrick/

If there any formal agreement to be a MOOSE partners ?
My research team UMMISCO can join: http://www.ummisco.ird.fr/

Hi Serge,

There is no formal agreement at this time. Only effort :).

Can you send me the official logo in a higher resolution?

Cheers,

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Anne Etien
Hi,

I wish you an happy new year!!

I discussed this morning with Stéphane and we realized how important it is that we get a list of academic and industrial working on Moose.
Moose is one of the few platform developed (in part) by academics that is used for real in industry or by other research group. It is one important avantage that we have to stress. It was on the previous version of the web site. It is sad to reduce this list to the 4 or 5 academic groups indicated on the list or to the individuals.

Cheers,

Anne

There is no formal agreement at this time. Only effort :).

Can you send me the official logo in a higher resolution?

I agree with Anne, this is quite important when you wrote an academic
proposal and you want to show to the reviewers that there is a big
community.

You can link Kendrick project if needed : http://ummisco.github.io/kendrick/

If there any formal agreement to be a MOOSE partners ?
My research team UMMISCO can join: http://www.ummisco.ird.fr/

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Tudor Girba-2
Hi Anne,

The previous version of the website did not have more than the directly contributing groups.

But, if you want to maintain a list of users it would be great.

Cheers,
Doru

Re: List of academic / industrial using Moose

Anne Etien
Hi

I don’t remember what was on these two webpages: http://www.moosetechnology.org/about/researchprojects and http://www.moosetechnology.org/about/industrialprojects. But it seems that the industrial projects where also specified.

I don’t have access to the previous list, neither to the website, but I can help in collecting the data.

Cheers,

Anne
