Loss of debugging features in VW 8.0

It seems that useful debugging features have been removed and there does

not seem to be a way to easily restore them.

You cannot insert watchpoints in either the code browser or debugger.

You cannot define or inspect local probe variables.

In the debugger you cannot insert temporary probes. Temporary probes are useful

when you want the breakpoint to only affect the process being debugged.
