[Mac OS 9] Running out of memory

Stew MacLean

Hi,

I’ve had my first attempt at deploying to Mac OS 9 (yes, I know it’s old, but my step mother uses it!)

I didn’t get very far as it said it didn’t have enough memory.

Admittedly, this is on a $20 trademe machine, but is there anything I can do to make it run on this machine re memory settings?

Thanks,

Stewart

I think there's a memory restriction set in the Mac attributes of the
executable. I cannot remember exactly, but either you can 'get info' on
the executable from the finder, or possibly use some utility to show the
max memory allowed. Increase the value.

Have a look at these screencasts, and adjust the parameters to match the memory profile of the system in question:

Changing the Virtual Memory using Apple Menu > Console > Memory to 100MB
did the trick on two machines.

Just need to get sort out why my app goes down a black hole!

Thanks,

Stewart
