I have not yet seen the new UFFI alternative SSL plugin working, even though I tried. So I am pretty sure it is early alpha quality. That project has also not yet been announced. It is my opinion that writing something is only half the work, supporting it for years to come is the next step.

So, lets make it work first, then we'll see about integrating it (which I ultimately would certainly want). Mind you that Windows also needs a solution.
