How much time do you expect your migration to take?
Because I would be you
- I would try to develop in Pharo 50 the tools are much better
- faster list
- Spotter much much much better
- faster nautilus
- faster system in general
- and if you find a bug people will help
Then I would be you I would do the following:
- create a configuration and a jenkins job that manages
stable version of 40 and 50 (the same version in fact)
- let the dev to be a baseline.
- develop as much as possible in 50 if you get really blocked
then switch to 40.
- like that you can develop in 50 and deploy in 40. Ok this
is a bit more work.
But in one year a lot have improved (yes there are some
parts that are a bit shaky).
