The developer won't be paid at this time.

Then, my page isn't the right place for annoucing the position. I suggest you make the annoucement on Smalltalk mailing lists such as Squeak-dev, [hidden email], and [hidden email].

Cheers,
Noury

They would work from home, or any location they prefer. They are required to have a high speed internet connection. The employer is the ADK Project. For any funded work, the employer will be Satellite Forces.

David,

Actually, my question was on the Smalltalker position. Will (s)he be paid for participating to the ADK project? Where should (s)he work? And who is the employer?

Hello Noury.

Yes. First of all, the use of the word free in regards to open source is meant to mean that the intellectual property is free to everyone to use, under the terms of the GPL. The ADK project is licensed in this way. In terms of funding, the project itself accepts donations and is self funded at this time. It is the policy of the project to use any funding it received to pay for development and advancement of the project. Satellite Forces may also fund the project from time to time for specific purposes.

The purpose of the ADK is to provide a systems integration path for anyone interested in connection of their application to Atlantis. The Smalltalk Developer for this project is responsible for building and managing all of the Smalltalk side of the code for this different interfaces. The main protocol for these interfaces is WebServices. In addition, parts will need to be built for .net, a .dll interface, RFID and State Machine based emebedded hardware controllers.

I hope this answers your questions. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.

Respectfully,

David Long

Hi David,

Would you like tell me a bit more a position, or better, write down few lines explaining the job, the company, the location,... From the sourceforge, it's unclear to me whether the project is seeking a contributor ( i.e. for free as in open source projects) or someone to hire

Sincerly,
Noury

Hello Noury.

Would you be able to add a link to this project: <A href="http://adk.sourceforge.net" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">http://adk.sourceforge.net ? There is a position open for a Smalltalk developer. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Respectfully,

David Long
