Next step

zalenix
Hi all!

I have been reading the PBE e-book and running the examples and playing away in the Pharo environment. I now have a decent overview of the Pharo environment, the process of developing and writing Smalltalk code for the Pharo implementation (Using the System Browser, classification of classes and methods into packages and protocols respectively, and use of the Debugger).

I now want to take the next step for Pharo contribution, and this is something which will really get me into gears. I want to work on the "Export Excel files and other spreadsheet related goodies" project for GSoC 2012 for ESUG.

I request for some description of the project from Carla Griggio for some pointers, and I will start making my applucation ready to submit.

Thank you very much,

Best regards,
Saurav

Re: Next step

Carla F. Griggio
Hi Saurav!
Now Yuriy Mironenko is the main mentor of the project, though I'm still involved as co-mentor.

You're very welcome to join the students mailing list that you can find at: http://gsoc2012.esug.org/ and let's talk about it there :) . There are other students also interested in that project and some pointers have already been discussed, you can find that here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/smalltalk-gsoc-students/QQysKjn2ylA

Cheers!
Carla
