"No prior versions" message not helpful

Martin McClure-3
In 7.7, if I asked for the Store versions of a method with only one
version in the repository, I'd get a version browser with one selection.
In 7.7.1, I just get a dialog saying "No prior versions". This is not
helpful when I want to know who wrote that method, and when, and in
which version of the package it was introduced.

Is there any current way to get that info?

Regards,

-Martin

I don't see that problem: Store | Browse Versions shows the single version. We have Store on MS SQL Server, and I've run the Store update methods for the various VW versions. Can you duplicate with a virgin image and a method in the public store?

The Store Workbook in the main launcher menu may be useful for investigating this. It's so much easier to work with Store now it's done with GLORP.

All the best,
Steve

No, I can't! Thanks for the tip; I'll have to look into this further.

We saw this behavior when the method is in a package that has been renamed.

See the discussion "browse method versions fails after package rename"
(Jan 25)
for suggested fixes to that problem.

Yes, that's fixed in 7.8.
