[OT] database choices

Just learned about this one:

   http://mariadb.org/index.html

It sounds like the old guard of MySQL is coalescing around it.  It's up to you to decide whether that is true, and if so, whether it is a good thing.

It's funny because for years Oracle has been making the only usable
MySQL engine: InnoDB.
