The use of "somehow" would suggest you don't know how, but you've just explained how the message model results in traditional arithmetic operator precedence not working.

It can be left out or replaced with a modifier that expresses an opinion, e.g., "This is, unfortunately, the price..." or maybe "This is the modest price we pay for the simplicity..."
