Hi, I am getting an error: "PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail" in GemStone 3.4.0 CentOS 7 when I try to run some Metacello load via topaz. Below I paste some random output from the console: PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Project: Grease-Tests baseline' --transcript--'Project: Metacello baseline' --transcript--'Project: Gofer stable' --transcript--'Project: FileTree baseline' PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Fetched -> Zinc-GemStone-Server-Tools-dkh.38 --- github://GsDevKit/zinc:gs_master/repository [811da98:gs_master] --- github://GsDevKit/zinc:gs_master/repository' --transcript--'Project: Zodiac baseline' PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Fetched -> Zinc-Seaside-JohanBrichau.43 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Fetched -> Seaside-GemStone-GemServer-Core-dkh.10 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Fetched -> Seaside-GemStone-Adaptors-Zinc-JohanBrichau.19 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Fetched -> Seaside-GemStone-Adaptors-Swazoo-dkh.9 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Fetched -> Seaside-Adaptors-FastCGI-JohanBrichau.33 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Fetched -> Seaside-GemStone-GemServer-Tests-dkh.19 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository' --transcript--'Loaded -> Swazoo-2.2.gemstone-dkh.38 --- http://seaside.gemtalksystems.com/ss/swazoo2 --- cache' --transcript--'Evaluated -> 1.0-alpha2.2 [ConfigurationOfGoferProjectLoader] >> postLoadLoader' --transcript--'Evaluated -> baseline [BaselineOfMetacello] >> reprimeRegistryIssue197' PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Loaded -> GsSqueakCommon-Core-dkh.20 --- filetree:///home/quuve/GsDevKit_home/shared/repos/glass/repository [5fa001f:master] --- cache' --transcript--'Loaded -> Seaside-Squeak-Compatibility-JohanBrichau.2 --- github://SeasideSt/Seaside:v3.2.4/repository [1f39762:v3.2.4] --- cache' --transcript--'Loaded -> Seaside-Swazoo-pmm.20 --- http://smalltalkhub.com/mc/Seaside/Seaside30LGPL/main --- http://smalltalkhub.com/mc/Seaside/Seaside30LGPL/main' PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Loaded -> Grease-Tests-Core-JohanBrichau.116 --- filetree:///home/quuve/GsDevKit_home/shared/repos/Grease/repository [6973d2b:master] --- cache' PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail PR_SET_PTRACER returned -1, pstack may fail --transcript--'Loaded -> Grease-Tests-GemStone-Core.v32-dkh.16 --- filetree:///home/quuve/GsDevKit_home/shared/repos/Grease/repository [6973d2b:master] --- cache' Just in case it might help, libc version is: ❯ ldd --version ldd (GNU libc) 2.17 Any ideas? Mariano, This turns out to be a bug ... the output is inadvertent (internal bug 47333 "R3 unwanted printout PR_SET_PTRACER ...") so it can be safely ignored and should be cleaned up in 3.4.1
